Jobs and Training - HAT Jobs and Training Initiatives Some of the key initiatives developed by the HAT include: The Learning Centre (formerly the Once Stop Centre) established to provide a one stop education, training and jobs advice service. Environmental Programme, leading to NVQ qualifications in landscaping and horticulture Childcare Programme leading to NVQ qualifications Customised Training programmes undertaken, e.g. a very successful programme with Jaguar Cars leading to 27 residents gaining employment to manufacture the x200 car series. Women Returners Programme Construction Training Programme Pre-vocational programmes for young people. This provides job placement opportunities, confidence building training and personal development. Vale Mail - community newspaper set up in April 2000 is issued every 2 months by residents for residents. Vale Mail provides training and support in journalism skills.
